Youth Training And Consultative Meetings On Reform Process

Youth of Transmara, Chepalungu and Narok South have been trained to work within their communities and disseminate information on the necessity and pace of reforms and youth voices on the reform agenda. These trainers were selected by the youth groups to which they belong in their respective areas.

The training was before the constitutional referendum, and they continue to reach out to their communities at various informal forums as well as meetings organized around peace-building, environmental conservation and other issues of concern within these three constituencies in the South Rift. This continuity was made a focal point of the training as the referendum and new constitution do not signal the end of reforms, but rather, the beginning.

SmartCitizens continues to provide support through facilitation of certain sections at forums and meetings, as well as distribution of information, education and communication material. The project was funded by UNDP Amkeni Wakenya project
